Registration open for 10-hour OSHA general industry course at JWCC on March 29-30

QUINCY — John Wood Community College Workforce Development Center will offer an OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) 10-hour general industry training class on Wednesday, March 29, and Thursday, March 30, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at JWCC’s Workforce Development Center, 2710 N. 42nd.

The class is open to the public. No application is necessary. Individuals are required to make a reservation to attend.

The class will provide information to entry-level general industry workers about their rights, employer responsibilities and how to identify, abate, avoid and prevent job-related hazards on a job site.  The course will offer resources and tools to create or enhance an effective safety and health management system, review the OSHA Act, and highlight many key General Industry Safety and Health Standards.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA 10-hour general industry completion card.  An OSHA outreach authorized trainer will teach the class.
