Perry woman arrested on three counts of felony retail theft from Griggsville business

GRIGGSVILLE, Ill. — A Perry woman is lodged in the Pike County Jail after she was arrested on three counts of felony retail theft.

The investigation began on or about March 12 when the Pike County Sheriff’s Department received a retail theft complaint from a retail business in Griggsville. The Pittsfield Police Department received two retail theft complaints on March 20 from a retail business in Pittsfield.  

The Pike County Sheriff’s Department and Pittsfield Police Department followed up with the retail theft investigation and applied for a search warrant. Law enforcement officials from the Pike County Sheriff’s Department and Pittsfield Police Department executed a court-authorized search warrant on Friday, March 24 in the 400 block of E. South Street in Perry. 

During the execution of the search warrant, property reported stolen was recovered. Karrie A. Waid, 46, then was arrested.
