Opening day of Central Park Farmers Market set for Saturday

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The opening day for the Central Park Farmers Market will be Saturday, April 29. The market will be open from 7:30 a.m.-noon every Saturday and from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesdays through Oct. 28.

Steve Huse, market manager, said in a press release vendors are excited about the chance to connect with their customers. Approximately 30 vendors participated in the Farmers Market each week last year.

This year will be the second year that several of the vendors are eligible to take SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits for payment through a program with Douglass Community Services.

Located in the heart of Hannibal in the city’s oldest park, the market plays a vital role as a community gathering place offering the area’s best products.
