Eyler to announce Adams County state’s attorney run
QUINCY — Adams County First Assistant State’s Attorney Todd Eyler will formally announce his candidacy for Adams County State’s Attorney this Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
The event will be held in the lower level of Tower Pizza & Mexican, 2701 Broadway.
Eyler, a Republican, is running to replace Gary Farha, who is not seeking re-election, in 2024. The Republican primary will be March 19 and the general election will be on November 5.
Eyler is a 1991 graduate of Central High School in Camp Point and a 1995 graduate of Quincy University. He earned his Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale in 1999. He spent 17 years in private practice before joining the Adams County State’s Attorney’s office in 2016.
A news release touted Eyler’s knowledge and experience with criminal cases, civil cases, and his administrative duties within the office.
From the news release:
“Todd is a prosecutor that is tough on crime. Todd’s goal is simple: to deter crime, and to keep the citizens of Adams County and their property safe. While Todd has a reputation for being tough on crime, he also realizes that punishment is not the only goal of the criminal justice system. When rehabilitation is appropriate, Todd will support it. Todd also strives to make the court system more effective by not allowing unnecessary delays, because justice delayed is justice denied. Todd is dedicated to making Adams County a safer place to live and work; a safe community is a more productive community.”
Eyler will be this week’s guest on Muddy River News This Week.
