QFD responds to early morning fire on Madison

QUINCY — The Quincy Fire Department responded to a call at 705 Madison just after 2 a.m. Wedensday.

When two engine companies arrived, they found a garage in the alley and a car next to it on fire.

QFD upgraded the response to a general alarm and two more crews responded.  First arriving companies extinguished the flames in both the vehicle and the garage.  

The vehicle is a total loss and the garage suffered only minor damage.  A nearby home also had a small amount of heat damage resulting in melted siding. 

No injuries occurred at the scene and no one will be displaced.

Quincy Fire Department investigators were called and the scene. Cause and origin are still under investigation.
