Griggsville man turns himself in, charged with home invasion, battery regarding May 26 incident

GRIGGSVILLE, Ill. — A Griggsville man is lodged in the Pike County jail in connection with a May 26 incident.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched at 11:58 p.m. May 26 to a residence in the 400 block of South Pearl in Griggsville, regarding a home invasion.

After an investigation, it was determined that Trenton D. Slight, 33, of Griggsville, unlawfully entered a residence and committed a battery on a person in the home. A person in the residence had an active order of protection against Trenton.  

Slight had fled the residence prior to law enforcement’s arrival, and he was not found later that night.  Law enforcement was unable to locate Slight that evening. He turned himself into the Pike County Sheriff’s Department on May 30.

Trenton was charged with the following offenses:

  • Home invasion,
  • Battery, 
  • Violation of an order of protection,
  • Criminal trespass to residence.
