HANNIBAL, Mo. — A resurfacing project is set to begin as early as July 5 on Missouri Route 156 from Missouri Route 149 in Macon County to Route 6 at Ewing in Lewis County. The total length of improvement is 52.5 miles and spans across Knox, Lewis and Macon counties. This project is anticipated to be completed by late fall.

The $6 million contract, was awarded earlier this year to Capital Paving and Construction, LLC of Jefferson City.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane during the day at the location where crews are actively working for the duration of the project.

Flaggers and a pilot car will direct motorists through the work zone.  Workers will be present during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, weather permitting. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place for the duration of the project.  All work is weather dependent. Schedules are subject to change.

All work zones are online at http://www.modot.org/northeast. Receive the latest news about road work in your area by signing up for e-updates, receiving emails or text messages about road work that’s happening on Missouri roads, projects or counties.
