Hopping down the bunny trail: Person in bunny suit robs Quincy laundromat Thursday morning

QUINCY — The Quincy Police Department is searching for a person dressed in a bunny suit who broke into the Winners Wash Laundromat, 2338 Spring, early Thursday morning.

Yes, you read that correctly. A bunny suit.

“We were all kind of speechless when we saw it,” said Officer Brent Holtman, who is handling the investigation. “I’ve never seen a person in full costume like that (committing a crime).”

A surveillance camera captured the “bunny” on video during the theft, which occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. The laundromat closes at 11 p.m. nightly.

The person is shown going through an office with a bag, rifling through drawers and cabinets. The person then picks up two cans, then exits the office. 

Holtman said quarters were in the two cans. He doesn’t yet know how much money was stolen.
