QUINCY — Good Samaritan Home will hold an open house to reveal new independent living cottage designs from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, in the Social Room on the main campus.

The event is open to the public. Light appetizers and refreshments will be served.

The event will showcase the final designs for two additional duplexes on the main campus and stand-alone cottages at Cherry Lane Estates. Construction on the first duplex is slated to begin in August. Project architects Klingner and Associates and general contractor J&N Construction, along with Good Samaritan Home CEO Jeannie McLeod, will be available to discuss the new designs.

In a press release, McLeod said, “Our cottages have been an invaluable addition to our home and campus for over 40 years. With the current increasing demand for housing in our region, we felt the time was right to step in, support our community and be part of the solution.”

The future cottages will be available to contract at the open house for people ages 55 and over and include all general maintenance as well as preferred admission into the home. These three new cottages are the first phase of a long-range plan that will include more units in the coming years.

In addition to independent living in the cottages, assisted living, intermediate and skilled nursing care, short-term rehabilitation, dementia care and aquatic fitness are provided on the main campus. Good Samaritan Home is certified as a Continuing Care Retirement Community. Please refer to www.gshq.org for additional information about all of these services.
