United Way of Adams County to announce campaign kickoff Tuesday at ONE
QUINCY, Ill. — United Way of Adams County will officially start its “YOU Are United Way” campaign on Tuesday, Aug. 8, at ONE Special Event Venue, 600 Hampshire.
A social hour will start at 5 p.m. followed by a short program at 6 p.m. that includes a video premiere and the goal announcement. United Way partners, board members, sponsors and volunteers will announce plans for the upcoming campaign including the 2023 campaign goal.
Elisha and Tanner Freiburg will be this year’s campaign chairpersons and lead the fundraising efforts. Brooke and Patrick Cook will co-chair this year, preparing them for chair duties in 2024.
Reservations are recommended, with all proceeds for the event going toward the annual campaign.
In a press release, Tanner Freiburg said, “A community isn’t complete without an organization like the United Way. It is vital that we all play our part and help the United Way reach their goal. With your help, we are confident that the United Way will hit their target and be able to provide the services our community needs.”
A fundraising goal of $1.1 million for the year 2023 has been established by United Way of Adams County. The primary aim of this initiative is to encourage the community to contribute more generously than they have in the past and to encourage first-time donors to participate.
Achieving this financial milestone provides continued provision of essential services offered by 17 United Way nonprofit community partners including:

- American Red Cross
- Bella Ease
- Boy Scouts MVC
- Cheerful Home
- Community for Christ,
- Cornerstone
- Girl Scouts
- Horizons
- Quincy Catholic Charities
- Quanada
- Quincy Family YMCA
- Retired Senior Volunteer Program
- Salvation Army, Transitions
- YoungLife
- YWCA
The funds support more than 26 programs United Way invests in, ensuring assistance reaches those who need it most in an uninterrupted manner.
Executive Director Nancy Bluhm said, “At United Way of Adams County, we are really looking forward to the 2023 campaign season. We are cohesive, committed and energized to do our part to meet the 2023 campaign goal. We are honored to have the firm commitment from an excellent cohort of campaign champions.”
