Former Pleasant Hill resident arrested in Nevada, charged with seven counts of child pornography
PLEASANT HILL, Ill. — A Nevada man, formerly from Pleasant Hill, was arrested July 19 and has been charged with seven counts of unlawful possession of child pornography.
The investigation began on January 27, 2021, when authorities with the Pike County Sheriff’s Department and Pleasant Hill Police Department were notified of James B. Knight, 57, of Elko, Nev., being in possession of child pornography. Law enforcement authorities found 47 images of child pornography.
The case was investigated by Chief Deputy Zack Orr, who indicated Knight moved from Pleasant Hill in the summer of 2019. Orr said the case continued, and a warrant was issued for Knight.
Knight was extradited from Nevada to Illinois. He remains lodged in the Pike County Jail on $100,000 bond.
