QUINCY — The Quincy Gem City Breakfast Kiwanis will hold its annual Peanut Day fundraiser on Friday, Sept. 1.

Breakfast Kiwanians will be wearing vests identifying them as members as they give out peanuts and solicit donations. Kiwanians will be at both doors of Farm and Home Supply and Niemann Foods from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and at Hardee’s at 30th and Broadway from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Peanut Day is one of three major fund raising efforts of Breakfast Kiwanis. All funds raised go to benefit children in our community. In the past year, Breakfast Kiwanis has given out over $26,000 in grants to various groups or agencies in the Quincy Area.

Headquartered in Indianapolis, Kiwanis is an international organization founded in 1915. Its members are service and community-minded individuals who support children and young adults around the world.

Gem City “Breakfast” Kiwanis meets weekly at 7 a.m. on Friday mornings at the American Legion in Quincy. Anyone interested in joining our club is welcome to contact the organization via Facebook or at https://gemcitybreakfastkiwanis.com
