Quincy businessman killed in Shelby County crash
CLARENCE, Mo. – A Quincy man died after a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 36 in Shelby County Friday night.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Robert “Bob” Lansing, 73, of Quincy was killed at the scene.
According to the MSHP report, Lansing was a passenger in a 2016 Toyota Landcrusier that changed lanes on U.S. 36 west of Clarence just before 9 p.m. Friday. The Landcruiser was then struck by a 2016 Volvo driven by Alexandre Termure, 42, of Schaumburg, Ill. Termure was not hurt.
Lucas Lansing, 45, of Windsor, Colo. was the driver of the Landcruiser. He and an 11-year-old boy suffered serious injuries and were flown from the scene to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. They were both wearing seatbelts.
Bob Lansing was pronounced dead just after 10 p.m. Friday by Shelby County Coroner Corey Eagan. Lansing’s body was taken to the Greening, Eagan and Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina.
Bob Lansing was not wearing a seatbelt.
Bob Lansing owned Lansing Construction. He established the first medical marijuana distribution facility in Quincy after the State of Illinois legalized cannabis in 2014, and then for recreational purposes in 2020.
He sold the company, Herbal Remedies, in 2021.
