United Way of Adams County Behavioral Health Team creates guide for behavioral situations

United Way

ADAMS COUNTY, Ill. — United Way of Adams County Behavioral Health Team has created a helpful resource list and decision guide for the community. The purpose of the list and guide are to provide community members assistance in determining resources and actions in behavioral situations.

In a press release, Stacey Juilfs, Community Building Council Behavioral Health Team co-chair and executive director of Clarity Healthcare, said, “Our Community Building Council Behavioral Health team committee created this easy and quick reference guide for behavioral health to make it user friendly.

‘This is for anyone in the community who are unsure of what steps to take to help a loved one or themselves access the appropriate mental or behavioral health services. The goal is to provide an easy way for individuals to navigate these services without having to spend time searching, calling and seeking out what is offered in Adams County.”

The team spent several months gathering the information and determining a user-friendly, easy to use format. The guide has approximately 20 agencies with details about the services they offer, methods of payment/insurance and a legend of service definitions.

The guide also has information about the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, as well as a QR code that can be scanned with a complete list of other family and social services agencies.

The Adams County Behavioral Health Resource List and Decision Guide is in the resource binders at the Quincy Public Library. It also is available on the United Way of Adams County website at https://www.unitedwayadamsco.org/behavioral-health-decision-guide-resource-list.
