Miss Quincy contestant registration now open; pageant set for Jan. 6
QUINCY — The Miss Quincy Scholarship Program is accepting contestant applications for its annual Miss Quincy and Miss Quincy’s Teen competition, scheduled for Jan. 6, 2024, at Quincy Community Theatre.
Held since 1948, the pageant empowers young women ages 13-28 by providing educational scholarships and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
The areas of competition include private interview (30%), health and fitness (20%), talent (20%), evening gown (20%) and on-stage question (10%). Each contestant selects a community service initiative, an issue in which she cares deeply and that is of relevance to society. Once chosen, Miss Quincy and Miss Quincy’s Teen will use their stature to address service organizations, businesses, civic leaders, the media and others about their community service initiatives.
To qualify as a contestant, a female must be at least 13 years of age by June 10, 2024 and not be older than 28 years of age as of Dec. 31, 2024. Contestants must also reside in, be enrolled in classes on a full-time basis, or be employed on a full-time basis for at least six months in one of the following counties: Adams, Brown, Pike, Schuyler, Hancock, McDonough or Scott.
The winners of Miss Quincy and Miss Quincy’s Teen 2024 will be awarded scholarship funds for their education and a prize package valued at nearly $10,000 each. They will represent the program at community appearances and at the Miss Illinois competition in June 2024 in Marion.
The Miss Quincy Scholarship Program is an official local preliminary to Miss America, one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the largest source of scholarships for women in the United States.
