Ulmus Academy’s fall fundraiser, ‘Swing, Soul & Rock n’ Roll’, set for Oct. 13 at One

QUINCY — Ulmus Academy will be the host of “Swing, Soul & Rock n’ Roll” from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, at One event venue.

Live music will be performed by St. Louis-based jump blues band, Sweetie and the Toothaches. Those attending will experience a nostalgic evening of music and dance to support Ulmus Academy, a private school.

Tasty J’s food truck will be just outside the venue, and drinks will be inside. Arrive at 6 p.m. to get a free swing dance lesson from instructors from the Hannibal Area Swing Association. The band takes the stage at 7 p.m.

Doors to this event will open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person for people 12 and older.

Ulmus Academy, a 100 percent independently funded private school in Quincy, opened in 2022 and has doubled student registration in the fall of 2023. With a 15:1 student teacher ratio, Ulmus gives children the individualized attention they need.
