PALMYRA, Mo. — A combination silent and live auction will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, at the Sesquicentennial Building to benefit Val’s Pals. The event will offer door prizes, raffles and an opportunity to win $300. A bid number will cost $5. A bid number that includes a meal and water will cost $10.

Val’s Pals is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization formed by Madonna Watters in 2017. Watters’ motivation in forming the non-profit came from experiencing the loss of her father and three sisters to cancer. She realized during the time she spent caring for one of her sisters how many people are touched by cancer, giving endless hours of their love, dedication and selflessness.

The organization provides for the caregivers special totes, free of charge, that are filled with a wide variety of useful and fun items to help during the many hours of caring for their loved ones. In the past six years, almost 600 totes have been delivered throughout the United States.

Proceeds from this auction, along with T-shirt sales, will help to provide funds for the printing of the totes, items that go in the totes and mailing costs of the totes.
