Quincy University adds 12 full-time faculty members

QUINCY — Quincy University recently announced the addition of 12 full-time faculty members for the 2023-24 school year.

Joining the QU community this fall are:

  • I Chun Lisa Chen, assistant professor of business. Chen earned her doctorate in management from Stirling University. She has taught management in Asia, America and Europe. Chen is an online and part-time tutor for the Center of Finance and Management at SOAS, University of London. Her research covers human resource management and leadership.
  • Tiffany Fish, associate professor of criminal justice. Fish holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. Fish is a licensed attorney in Missouri, Iowa and Illinois. She also owns and operates her own private law firm in Missouri and works as an assistant state’s attorney in Adams County. She is a sworn law enforcement officer in Missouri and has been in law enforcement since 2015. Fish is a U.S. Navy Veteran.
  • Sean Grattan, visiting assistant professor of English. Grattan earned his doctorate in English from the City University of New York, Graduate Center. He works in the fields of American literature, queer theory and environmental humanities. He is the author of “Hope Isn’t Stupid: Utopian Affects in Contemporary American Literature.” His work has appeared in edited collections like Life In Plastic: Artistic Responses to Petromodernity, The City in American Literature and Culture and Noir Affect.
  • Shelby Miller, aeronautical management technology degree, instructor of aviation. Miller received his bachelor’s degree in aeronautical management technology (professional flight) from Arizona State University in 2006. He was a pilot with Delta Air Lines, served as a captain and line check airman at Compass Airlines, and conducted Initial Operating Experience for new first officers and newly upgraded captains. Miller started his flying career as a CFI/CFII flight instructor at Mesa Pilot Development, which partnered with Arizona State University.
  • Chris Moore, visiting instructor of mathematics. Moore earned a master’s degree in mathematics at Ball State University. Moore has served as a math instructor at Ball State, University of St. Thomas, Augsburg University and St. Paul College.
  • Tasnuba Nasir, assistant professor of marketing. Nasir earned her doctorate in supply chain risk management at Curtin University in Australia. She has served as adjunct faculty at Western Illinois University department of management and marketing and has more than 10 years of experience teaching marketing and supply chain management at the graduate and undergraduate level. Nasir has contributed to research, publications and presentations related to logistics and supply chain management and risk management.
  • Danette Parham, instructor of early childhood education, Parham holds a master of education early childhood special education and a master of health science communication science and disorders from University of Missouri. Parham has worked as a speech-language pathologist for nine years and has served in a variety of settings as both a therapist and diagnostic technician on a multi-disciplinary team with Columbia Public Schools and Hannibal Public Schools.
  • Lucy Parker-Barnes, assistant professor of counselor education. Parker-Barnes holds a doctorate in counselor education and supervision from Northern Illinois University. She worked as assistant professor of counseling education for three years at La Salle University and two years at Gannon University. She has been a counselor for over a decade and has researched effects of social class trauma and classism in counseling. Parker-Barnes has worked with clients with various presenting concerns including trauma, mood disorders, grief, interpersonal conflict, mandated related issues and others. She has written various articles related to multiculturalism, intersectionality, social class trauma and classism.
  • Yunyi Shen, assistant professor of mathematics. Shen earned his doctorate from Florida State University.
  • Jonathan Stewart, assistant professor of vocal music, director of choral activities. Stewart holds a doctorate degree of musical arts in music education from Boston University. He has 12 years of experience as a music minister and 23 years of experience as a college/university professor. He was the assistant conductor of the St. Louis Chamber Chorus for four years.
  • Minh Vo, visiting professor of finance. Vo earned a doctorate in financial economics at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He has taught at the University of Minnesota, Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia, and Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minn. Vo’s research interests are corporate finance, investments, game theory and machine learning in finance.
  • Sarah Vordtriede-Patton, professor of biological sciences, provost, vice president of academic achievement. Vordtriede-Patton earned a doctorate in biology at St. Louis University in 1999 and an EdS in higher education administration in 2001 at University of Missouri Kansas City. She has 30 years of experience in higher education, ranging from her early years as an instructor and assistant professor to serving as the founding dean of the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at Columbia College in Columbia, Mo.
