SHELBYVILLE, Mo. — A Shelbyville, Mo., man has been arrested for sodomy and rape and is in the Macon County Jail.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control arrested Faren J. Lindsey, 46, on Wednesday, Oct. 25, for three counts of statutory sodomy, one count of statutory rape and one count of forcible rape after an investigation by the Troop B Criminal Investigative Unit of the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control.
The Kirksville Police Department requested in July 2022 the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control investigate the sexual assault of a minor female, reported to have been committed by Lindsey in his former residence in Kirksville.
Investigators learned Lindsey had allegedly sexually assaulted the underage female victim several times during a two-year period beginning in July 1999. The results of the investigation were presented Oct. 25 to an Adair County grand jury, who formally indicted Lindsey.
Lindsey was taken into custody on Oct. 25 and transported to the Macon County Jail where he is currently being held, with a $75,000 cash-only bond.
