QUINCY— Quincy University is partnering with Handshake, a career management platform that connects students and employers.

More than 1,300 colleges and universities are partnered with Handshake. Students have access to the largest early talent network in the U.S. More than 550,000 employers use Handshake as the primary platform for recruiting students.

In a press release, Kristen Liesen, director of experiential learning, said, “Our local and regional employers can post positions in real-time and have more assistance in recruiting QU students and alums. In our short time as a Handshake school, our students have networked in new ways and benefited from job shadowing experiences.”

With Handshake, students use criteria such as school year, location interests, certifications, student organizations and unique courses of study. Employers message students directly about available job opportunities, increasing job application rates from qualified candidates and create virtual or in-person interviews through the Handshake network.

Through the resources of Handshake, diverse talent can be recruited from anywhere in the country. Students save time and effort by centrally managing job postings from a single dashboard, allowing employers to find, connect and engage with schools that were previously outside of their reach.
