Dallas City woman arrested for driving under influence also in possession of methamphetamine
DALLAS CITY, Ill. — A Dallas City woman was arrested on Friday afternoon and found to be under the influence of alcohol while also in possession of methamphetamine.
Hancock County Sheriff’s Department deputies observed a gray 2005 Chevrolet traveling east on Ill. 9, west of Dallas City. The Chevrolet went off the road several times. Deputies made a traffic stop at approximately 3:30 p.m. Friday.
The driver, Evonne A. Mitchell, 62, of Dallas City was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest. A search of her belongings revealed she also was in possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine.
The passenger in the car was released.
Mitchell was transported to the Hancock County Jail where she was lodged. She later was released on her own recognizance by the judge.
