Adams County Treasurer’s Office accepting real estate tax prepayments for 2024

ADAMS COUNTY, Ill.  — The Adams County Treasurer’s Office is accepting real estate property tax prepayments during the month of December for taxes that will be payable in 2024. Prepayments will bear a receipt date in 2023.

Prepayments can be made in person or by mail. If paying in person, enter the courthouse through the Fifth Street entrance. Payments sent by mail must be postmarked no later than Dec. 31.

Taxpayers may prepay up to the total amount of their most recent tax bill (mailed/paid in 2023). If paying on multiple parcels, the parcel number and amount paid for each parcel must be provided.

Office hours are weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but the office will be closed on Friday, Dec. 22 and Monday, Dec. 25.
