Illini Xpress Clinic to close Thursday, reopen in new location Friday

PITTSFIELD, Ill. — The Illini Xpress Walk-In Clinic on the square in Pittsfield will close permanently at noon, Thursday, Dec. 14, to relocate equipment and supplies to the clinic’s new location.

The new Illini Express Clinic will open at 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, on the northeast corner of the Illini Community Hospital campus where the annex building once stood.

Illini leaders want residents to be aware anyone with a medical concern they want to be addressed immediately between noon, Dec. 14, and 7 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, should contact their primary care provider or go to the Illini Community Hospital emergency room.

The new Illini Express Clinic is designed specifically for healthcare delivery. It features one drive-through bay that will allow people seeking selected screenings or care to remain in their vehicles. Another benefit of the relocation of the Illini Express Clinic to the hospital campus is that it will allow hospital-based staff to more quickly and efficiently respond to the clinic during times of high demand for care to assist clinic caregivers.

Funding for the Illini Express Clinic project came from an $891,500 United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development grant with the remaining $730,000 invested by Blessing Health.
