Get your peanuts! Gem City Kiwanis Club fundraiser set for Sept. 3
QUINCY — Gem City Kiwanis club members will be standing at the entrances to various businesses on Sept. 3, collecting donations and giving out “thank you” bags of peanuts. This fundraiser allows community members and folks who frequent local businesses an opportunity to make a financial donation to help the club and help local organizations “help the children” in the area.
Club members will be at the County Market on 24th and Spring, the County Market on 48th and Broadway, Farm & Home Supply on Broadway and Hardee’s on 30th and Broadway.
The club also accepts donations online. Scan the QR “Venmo” code or send a check, made out to the 501c3: Gem City Kiwanis Foundation/Peanut Fundraiser, and mail it to Gem City Kiwanis, P.O. Box 178, Quincy, Ill., 62306.

Quincy’s Kiwanis Clubs claim they have raised more than $2 million for the Adams County Skate Park Movement, American Red Cross, Baldwin autism program, Big Brother Big Sister, Blessed Sacrament School, Boy Scouts, Camp Callahan, Chaddock, Cornerstone, Department of Children & Family Services, Early Childhood Center, Friends of the Log Cabins for Frontier Settlement Day, Girl Scouts, Hope Haven, Jackson-Lincoln Swimming Complex, JWCC Walt Hansen Scholarship, Kids Club, Lutheran Child & Family Services, Madonna House, Muddy River Opera Company, Quincy Community Theatre, Quincy Museum, Quincy Symphony Orchestra, QU Walt Hansen Scholarship, Recovery Resources, Salvation Army, Special Olympics, St. Dominic School, Two Rivers Regional Council, Transitions of Western Illinois, West Central Illinois Center for Independent Living and the YMCA.
