Two facing methamphetamine charges after Hancock County deputies respond to 911 call
La HARPE, Ill. — A 911 call about a domestic disturbance led to methamphetamine-related arrests on Sunday.
Deputies with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched Sunday to 2171 N. County Road 2550 after a 911 call was received and only screaming could be heard. Joangela L. Kiley, 47, of LaHarpe and Ronald H. Kienast, 70, of LaHarpe had been in a domestic disturbance. Deputies sorted out the disturbance in a short time.
During the investigation, a metal box was presented to the deputies and examined. Three bags of a crystal-like substance, syringes, scales and other paraphernalia were found inside the box. The substances were field tested positive for methamphetamine and had a combined weight of 16.2 grams.
Kienast and Kiley were arrested and transported to the Hancock County Jail and held pending detention hearings before the court.
Kienast was charged with delivery of between five and 15 grams of methamphetamine, a Class 1 felony, and possession of between five and 15 grams of methamphetamine, a Class 2 felony. Kiley was charged with possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony. Both were released on Wednesday, Dec. 13, with future court dates.
