QUINCY — The Quincy Art Center has put out a call for artists for three upcoming exhibits: the 50th annual High School Art Competition, the seventh annual High School Art Teacher Exhibit, and the 50th Anniversary High School Competition Past Participants’ Showcase.

All three of these exhibits will be on display at the Quincy Art Center from Feb. 3 – March 2.

The 50th annual High School Art Competition is designed to educate high school artists on how to enter and display artwork for a juried competition professionally. Open to high schoolers in grades 9-12, students may enter up to three works for $12. A reception and awards ceremony will be held for this exhibit from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3.

In addition to the work of area students, the Art Center will be displaying works from the students’ art teachers in their seventh annual High School Art Teacher Exhibit.

New this year is an opportunity for past participants in the annual High School Art Competition to display works they had accepted in previous years. This is in celebration of the 50th anniversary of this competition and a way to reexamine the work of previous years’ student artists. These works will constitute the 50th Anniversary High School Competition Past Participants’ Showcase.

For more information, artists can see the full prospectus for these exhibits at quincyartcenter.org or call the Quincy Art Center at (217) 223-5900.
