Community input meeting for Riverview Park improvements set for Jan. 11 at Hannibal City Hall
HANNIBAL, Mo. — Public input for the master plan for improvements in Riverview Park will be the focus of a public forum at 6 p.m. on Jan. 11 in the City Council chambers of City Hall.
The master plan is expected to take about nine months to complete. It will create a playbook for the future of the park as improvements are completed. It will provide a map for future fundraising efforts.
Planning Design Studio, a landscape architecture firm dedicated to creating exceptional outdoor spaces, is working on the master plan for a Riverview Park renovation.
Andy Dorian, director of Central Services, said community input is critical to forming the vision for the park. He encourages anyone who wants to share their ideas to attend.
“A presentation on the project will be provided at the start of the meeting, followed by an opportunity to offer input and comments which will assist the city in developing a master plan,” he said.
Dorian says the master plan would include the entryway, vegetation, tree planting, erosion issues, signage, evaluation of overlooks, passive nature trails and improvements to the shelter/playground.
Hannibal Parks and Recreation is gathering community feedback online by posting a new question every two weeks. The questions can be answered on the Hannibal Parks and Recreation Riverview Park page.
