Macomb man arrested for sexual abuse that occurred in 2022
MACOMB, Ill. — A Macomb man was arrested earlier this month on charges related to a sexual abuse case from 2022.
In October 2023, the Macomb Police Department took a report of a Sexual Assault that occurred in May 2022. It was alleged that an adult male had sexually assaulted a juvenile female in Macomb.
An investigation was conducted, and the suspect was identified as Willie J. Hughes, 24, of Macomb.
The case was presented to the McDonough County State’s Attorney’s Office who requested a warrant for Hughes’s arrest, charging him with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. On December 16, Hughes was taken into custody on the warrant by the Macomb Police Department and is currently detained at the McDonough County Jail pending a preliminary hearing on January 10.
