QUINCY — Adams County will mark its 200th anniversary in 2025, and the Adams County Bicentennial Commission is organizing a grand opening ceremony at the Armory in Quincy.

Organizers say this event will set the tone for a year filled with activities that allow residents of all ages to participate.

The commission is inviting businesses, organizations and people to create, execute or participate in activities to commemorate this historic occasion.

In a press release, Chuck Scholz, chair of the commission, said, “The Adams County Bicentennial is not just a celebration of our past. It’s a celebration of the people who have made this county what it is today. We want this year to be a reflection of the varied mosaic of Adams County — its history, its people and its potential for the future.”
