Tracy coordinating effort to send Valentine cards to residents of long-term care facilities

Valentines-1

QUINCY – State Sen. Jil Tracy (R-Quincy) is asking 50th District residents to once more uplift the spirits of long-term care facility residents by sending them Valentine’s Day cards.

In a press release, Tracy said, “Making and sending beautiful Valentine’s Day cards reminds our senior citizens how many people truly care about them. This will be our fourth year delivering Valentines on the communities’ behalf as part of our annual Valentines for Senior Card Drive. Receiving your cards has brought much joy and many smiles to the residents of local long-term care facilities, especially those who have been more isolated because of on-going public health concerns.”

Community members, churches, schools and other groups are being asked to make and/or send Valentine’s Day cards to Sen. Tracy’s district offices in Quincy and Jacksonville. Once the cards have been collected, they will be delivered by Sen. Tracy’s district staff members on the communities’ behalf to the residents of long-term care facilities in the 50th District.

Valentine’s Day cards are being accepted now through Feb. 5. Participants may either mail cards to, or drop them off at, Sen. Tracy’s district offices at 3601 East Lake Centre Drive, Suite 200, Quincy. IL 62305 (217-223-0833), or 325 W. State, Suite 102, Jacksonville, Ill., 62650 (217-223-0833). Contact Helen Mayfield at hmayfield@adams.net for more information or to indicate interest in participating.

Members of the Senate Republican Caucus collected and delivered more than 45,000 Valentines statewide in 2023 through the Valentines for Senior Card Drive.
