MFA Oil Foundation awards grant to Ralls County Library for STEAM to Go Kits

CENTER, Mo. — MFA Oil Foundation recently awarded the Ralls County Library a grant for 12 STEAM to Go Kits for patrons in grades 3-12.

STEAM to Go Kits are collections of hands-on games, machines, building pieces, experiments and more to encourage exploration of STEAM concepts (science, technology, engineering, arts and math). These kits have been developed in conjunction with schools and public libraries for hands-on learning as a supplement to literature concepts and critical thinking skills.

Topics are:

  • Electronics and Coding
  • Estimation and Patterns
  • Everyday Science
  • Examine Science and Nature
  • Explore Circuits
  • Family Game Night
  • Green Energy
  • Machines and Contraptions
  • Math
  • Explore the Outdoors
  • My Amazing Body.

The purpose of the STEAM to Go Kits is to encourage interest in science, technology, engineering, arts and math concepts. 

The MFA Oil Foundation provides cash grants to support nonprofit organizations that are working to improve communities where MFA Oil has a significant concentration of members and employees. The foundation’s mission is to assist rural communities in MFA Oil Company’s market area by donating resources to help develop and strengthen organizations dedicated to education, youth, human services or civic endeavors.
