Sixth annual QU Alumni Day on Thursday to honor university’s first day of classes in February 1860

QUINCY — Quincy University will be the host of its sixth annual QU Alumni Day on Thursday, Feb. 15, in honor of the university’s first day of classes in February 1860. Alums are encouraged to wear a QU alumni button and QU gear to work and attend the day’s events.

In a press release, Maureen Kennedy, coordinator of alumni services, said, “I invite all QU alumni, no matter where you live, to wear a QU alumni button or your favorite QU gear and take a picture of yourself to share on social media using #qualumniday. I encourage all QU alumni in the Quincy region to join us for the day’s events as we celebrate their successes as graduates.”

Alumni are invited to enjoy lunch, courtesy of fellow alum Luis Barnes, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the QU cafeteria in the Student Union. Alumni can participate in an online scavenger hunt at 1 p.m. with the opportunity to win prizes.

Alumni will receive free admission to the women’s and men’s basketball games vs. the University of Indianapolis and enjoy a dessert bar. They can be a part of a group picture during halftime of the men’s basketball game. Alumni attending or participating in any event will receive a gift. Tickets for the basketball games will be available at the alumni lunch or the Office of Advancement in Francis Hall B37.
