QUINCY — The Quincy Fire Department responded Monday to a report of a structure fire at 1030 N. Second, and no one was injured.

An Initial report indicated the structure had been evacuated. The first crews arrived on the scene at 7:39 a.m. and observed an exterior fire on the front of the structure. All occupants were confirmed to be out of the building. Engine 4 deployed an attack line and got the fire under control quickly.

There was very little fire extension to the interior of the residence, but the home filled with smoke. Systematic ventilation was conducted, and additional siding was removed to verify there was no additional exterior extension.

The Adams County Ambulance Service was on scene for stand-by if needed.

The residence can be occupied and has been released back to the homeowner. QPD and QFD investigators are working to determine the cause.

Sixteen firefighters were on the scene from three engines, a quint, a rescue and a command vehicle. The last units cleared the scene at 8:50 a.m.
