Hannibal Early Bird Kiwanis 36th annual Easter egg hunt scheduled for Saturday
HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Hannibal Early Bird Kiwanis Club will sponsor its 36th annual Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, on the campus of Hannibal-LaGrange University, in the vicinity of the Mabee Sports Complex.
More than 10,000 plastic eggs will be filled with candy and other prizes. The hunt will be broken down into three age groups: Toddlers to age 3; ages 4 to 6 years; and ages 7 to 9 years. All children must walk or run on their own. The egg hunt is free to the public.
This year’s event will feature the Easter Bunny, who will greet the children and be available for pictures. The egg hunt is not a fundraiser for the club but rather a community service project sponsored by the Spiritual Aims and Youth Service Committees of the club.
For more information concerning the Easter egg hunt, contact event coordinator Gilbert Gonzales by calling 760-672-9602 or publicity chairman Larry B. Craig at 573-248-8800.
The Early Birds Kiwanis Club meets at 7 a.m. every Thursday at the Hannibal Holiday Inn Express and Suites, 120 Shinn Lane. Anyone interested in being a part of this service club and helping to improve the community for young people is welcome to visit the club at any time.
