QUINCY — Becky Albert, coordinator of the Teresa Adams House, retired Friday, March 29 after a 10-year career. Among Becky’s accomplishments was being part of the team that made the Teresa Adams House a reality.

The Teresa Adams House offers discounted daytime and overnight accommodations for patients and their families seeking healthcare in the Quincy area from any provider. It welcomed its first guests in January 2023 after a two-year, $2.3 million community fundraising campaign. The Teresa Adams House replaced the 70-year-old Quincy Hospitality House at 1129 Oak.

The Teresa Adams House is Americans with Disabilities Act compliant. It offers significantly more space than the Quincy Hospitality House, with eight bedrooms having private baths, gathering and conference spaces, laundry facilities and a snack area all on one level.

In a press release, Albert said, “I am lucky that I was able to do a job that I truly loved. Being able to help others is a blessing, a blessing I had every day.”

Angie Peters, a Quincy native, has been named the new Teresa Adams House coordinator. After 20 years as operations manager for Peppco, a uniform and linen rental company, Peters joined Blessing Hospital in 2021, She most recently served as the Volunteer Services Department secretary.

“As volunteer services secretary, I quickly learned the value of our volunteers,” Peters said. “They honestly are the best. I also find that working in a healthcare setting is very fulfilling. “I look forward to creating new relationships with the volunteers at the Teresa Adams House and helping our guests find comfort while they are at the house.”

The Teresa Adams House is staffed seven days a week, including holidays, by volunteers.
