NECAC seeks two board members in Lewis County; deadline to apply is May 16
LEWIS COUNTY, Mo. — The North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC) is seeking two board members from Lewis County. Nominations are being accepted through May 16 for a civic interest representative and a low-income representative.
The people chosen will serve the remaining year of four-year terms. Candidates must live in Lewis County. Those seeking the civic interest representative position must be nominated by a local business, labor, fraternal, social, educational or religious organization. Candidates for low-income representative must be nominated by a low-income resident or an organization that serves the disadvantaged in the county. Candidates need not be low-income themselves.
The NECAC board meets seven times a year at the agency’s headquarters in Bowling Green. A complimentary meal is provided with a round-trip travel reimbursement of 67 cents per mile. The election is scheduled for May 28, with installation and term of office beginning on July 23.
Nominations must be made on forms available at the NECAC Lewis County Service Center, 408 S. Fourth, in Canton. A biographical questionnaire provided by NECAC must be completed or a personal resume will be required from all candidates.
