Marion County Democratic Central Committee to hold meeting to elect delegates for the Missouri Democratic Convention

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Marion County Democrat Central Committee is holding a meeting at 7 p.m. April 16 at the Palmyra, Mo., courthouse to elect state-level delegates to send to the Missouri Democratic Party’s State Convention, where delegates will be elected to be sent to the Democratic Party’s National Convention in August. 

In a press release on Wednesday, members of the committee encouraged local democrats to attend.

“Participating in these kinds of meetings is essential to ensuring your voice is heard in our political process and can drive positive change in our communities,” the release said.

To run to serve as a delegate at the Missouri Democratic Party’s state convention, potential delegates must:

  • Be a registered Democrat with the Secretary of State
  • Have voted in the Party-Run Presidential Preference Primary on March 23, 2024 
  • Have filled out a statement of candidacy form and returned it to the MDP by April 11th, 2024.
