HANNIBAL, Mo. — Works of art created by area community leaders paired with artists/mentors will be auctioned off on Thursday, April 25, at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S. Main.

Tickets in advance are $20 per person. If not sold out, tickets will be available at the door for $30. Pre-registration is required. To buy tickets, call 573-221-6545, stop by 105 S. Main or visit https://hannibalartscouncil.eventbrite.com. All proceeds benefit the Hannibal Arts Council and its programs. Signature sponsor for this event is Great Rivers Bank.
The artist/mentor/community leader teams for the fifth Annual Bad Art by Good People art auction fundraiser are:
- Steve Ayers/Ayers Pottery – Justin Gibson/Benson Financial Group
- Peggy Burchard-Ballard – Clint Graham/Hannibal Public Schools
- Rebecca Butler/The Budding Artist – Melissa Cummins/Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing & Health Sciences
- Kim Caisse – Frannie Altheide/HNB Bank
- Todd Damotte – Dr. Ken Mueller/International Eyecare Center
- Becky Evans – Kira Parker/F&M Bank
- Patricia Garey – JD Dodd/Hannibal Regional Healthcare System
- Vilma Holt – Paige Pfeiffer/Hannibal Area Chamber of Commerce
- Deb Scoggin-Myers – Emily Trevathan/Twisted Juniper Yoga/Prestige Realty/Douglass Community Services.
The Bad Art by Good People title is truly meant to be tongue in cheek, as the end-product of the community leader working with an artist/mentor will more than likely be good, if not great. Community leaders were matched with artists/mentors by drawing names out of a hat in November.
