Memorial Hospital Foundation campaign to fund Memorial Medical Clinic mobile unit

CARTHAGE — Memorial Hospital Foundation has launched a $30,000 fundraising effort to provide local students with essential mental health resources.

The Foundation’s Strengthening Minds, Building Futures campaign will support Memorial Hospital’s Behavioral Health team as it works to open a new mobile unit, Memorial Medical Clinic Mobile.

This mobile clinic will allow mental health counselors to provide students with needed support, therapy, and resources, directly on their school’s campus. The clinic is licensed to serve children ages 4 to 18 throughout Hancock County. This added service will allow the team to address common challenges such as anxiety, depression, social/emotional difficulties, ADHD and emotional dysregulation. The team will also be licensed to assist schools with Individualized Education Program (IEP) education. In the future, the counselors plan to offer autism screenings at the mobile clinic.

Donations to the Strengthening Minds, Building Futures campaign will be used to directly fund and renovate the transportation unit that will become Memorial Medical Clinic Mobile. Memorial’s Behavioral Health team hopes to begin serving children ithis fall.
