QUINCY — The Quincy Art Center is seeking high school students and 2024 graduates to apply for a paid summer student employee position through its Summer Youth Employment in the Arts grant funded by the Illinois Arts Council.
Applicants should be interested in pursuing careers in visual art or education and able to commit to working for eight weeks during the summer.
The student employee positions are scheduled for June 10 through August 2, at approximately 20 hours per week for eight weeks. Compensation is $14 per hour.
The student employee’s specific responsibilities:
- Perform daily studio and classroom maintenance (administrative)
- Assist art instructors and the director of education with regular art education programming such as tours, summer camps, and hands-on activity workshops (artistic and administrative)

The primary supervisor of the student employees in all education tasks will be the director of education. The director of education will train the youth employees daily during the first week followed by weekly training meetings for the following weeks. Student employees will assist art instructors during Art Camp class time.
Applications are due Friday, May 24. To apply, complete the application form on the Art Center’s website (quincyartcenter.org) under “Employment Opportunities” and attach files of a cover letter, resume, three samples of your artwork and two letters of reference.
