Dombroski named fan favorite at Salvation Army’s ‘Unmasking the Singer’ fundraiser
QUINCY — The Salvation Army Quincy Area Command unmasked Ben Dombroski as the fan favorite at its “Unmasking the Singer” fundraiser on Friday, April 26.
The head-to-head singing competition, where Quincy and Hannibal area celebrities/community members donned mascot costumes and sang for votes, raised money for the Salvation Army to continue to provide shelter to people experiencing homelessness in Quincy and Hannibal. The organization also recognized Craig Industries and Quincy Brewing Company as its Business Partners of the Year.
“Unmasking the Singer is one of our favorite fundraising events,” Donor Relations Coordinator Chad Douglas said in a press release. “Every year, our contestants dedicate their time and talents to help The Salvation Army raise money to fight against homelessness in our community, and it’s touching to see. With each passing year, the support and enthusiasm for this event grows, and we’re honored to be able to use this platform to highlight a growing need in our community.”
The seven contestants — Dombroski, Jessica Sublette, Cory Combs, Elise Scoggin, Mandar Dighe, Morgan Widmer, Raquel Sparrow — will continue to raise funds for the Salvation Army through midnight May 5. Donations can be made at bit.ly/UMTS24topfundraiser. The top fundraiser will be recognized during the week of May 6.
