Palmyra woman pleads guilty to nine counts of fraudulent use of credit device, gets five years of probation

PALMYRA, Mo. — A Palmyra woman received five years of probation after pleading guilty to nine counts of fraudulent use of a credit device.

Alissa D. Reed, 40, of Palmyra entered a guilty plea on Feb. 26 in Marion County Circuit Court. Judge David Mobley sentenced her on April 22 to 18 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections — two years for each of the nine counts — but suspended that sentence and put Reed on probation. Reed also was ordered to pay $21,462.44 in restitution to the victim and pay a fine of $27,000.

Reed was represented by Columbia attorney Matthew Perry. The prosecution team consisted of Katie Carlin, assistant prosecuting attorney for Marion County, and Luke A. Bryant, prosecuting attorney for Marion County.
