Bullock’s beauty procedure might be considered a pain in the butt by some … Welcome to today’s three thoughts that make up Vol. 961 of The Daily Dirt.

1. Every so often, Daily Dirt researchers strike gold.

They come across some bizarre fact that causes me to just shake my head. This is one of those days.

I was looking for three medal-worthy notes about well-known individuals, but never did I expect to see the ensuing information find its way to my desk at Muddy River News world headquarters.

Today’s gold medal award may never ever be topped:

Gold medal: Sandra Bullock. The actress puts hemorrhoid cream on her face, saying it is one one her beauty secrets to help her prevent getting wrinkles under her eyes. (There’s  so much that could obviously be said here, but I’ll let you fill in the blank however you see fit.)

Silver medal: Blake Lively. She uses mayonnaise on her hair before washing it. The actress applies the mayo to the ends. That way, she says, the shampoo does not strip the bottom of the hair and dry it out. Lively did not indicate what brand of mayo she prefers.

Bronze medal: Taylor Swift. She never washes her legs, saying in an interview she never washes them in the shower because she shaves them. She believes that “shaving cream is like soap”.

Honorable mention I: Marilyn Monroe. Her favorite breakfast was two raw eggs mixed with milk.

Honorable mention II: Actor Robert Pattinson often goes six weeks without washing his hair. He says he doesn’t see the point in washing his hair any more frequently.

2. Did you know (Part 24) …

  • That Tom Cruise divorced all three of his wives (Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman and Katie Holmes) when they were 33 years old.
  • That New York City makes $120 million per year from just the parking tickets given to delivery trucks.
  • That when legendary film director Martin Scorsese was an instructor at NYU in the 1960s, two of his students were Billy Crystal and Oliver Stone.
  • That John Sanford (Redd Foxx) and Malcolm Little (Malcolm X) worked together as dishwashers at a place called Jimmy’s Chicken Shack in Harlem, N.Y. when they were young.
  • That the No. 1 song in America 35 years ago (1989) today was “Armageddon It” by Def Leppard.

3. The Cleveland Guardians’ unheralded superstar, Jose Ramirez, is a part of some select company. Only five players in MLB history have recorded 600 extra-base hits, 200 home runs and 200 stolen bases in their first 1,341 or fewer career games:

  • Jose Ramirez
  • Mike Trout
  • Barry Bonds
  • Willie Mays
  • Alfanso Soriano

Steve Thought O’ The Day — The late John Lennon said he once received a letter from a student telling him his teacher often tried to analyze and dissect the lyrics of Beatles songs. That led Lennon to write “I Am The Walrus” with intentionally confusing and meaningless lyrics in an attempt to baffle those trying to analyze the group’s songs.

Steve Eighinger writes daily for Muddy River News, although now I think John Lennon is still alive and ghostwriting Daily Dirt.
