Arrest made in Phoenix for man facing attempted first-degree murder charge from August 2022

QUINCY — A Phoenix, Ariz., man was arrested Thursday after an attempted first-degree murder warrant was issued.

Detectives with the Quincy Police Department recently developed information that led them to believe Jayshon A. Levy, 21, was in the Phoenix area. Detectives and members of the West Central Illinois Task Force traveled Wednesday, May 29, to Phoenix to locate Levy.   They worked with a joint violent crimes task force to apprehend Levy at approximately 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 30.

Levy is being held at Maricopa County Jail.  He was arrested for a domestic violence-related incident on Aug. 31, 2022, at 624 York.

Agencies assisting in Levy’s apprehension were the FBI, Border Patrol, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Department and the Maricopa County State’s Attorney’s Office.  

The Quincy Police Department said in a press release it has no information regarding when Levy will be returned to Adams County.
