Nineteen agree to plea sentences through Marion County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in May

The Marion County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office closed out 19 cases by plea in May in the Circuit Court of Marion County, Missouri.

Tyler Wayne Hudson, 29, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 1 to felony domestic assault, felony resisting an arrest, felony disarming a peace offer while performing an official duty and felony property damage. Hudson admitted that on Dec. 9, 2022, he caused physical injury to a female victim by pushing her to the ground and dragging her around by the collar of her sweater. Judge Rachel Bringer-Shepherd sentenced him to serve five years in prison.

Hudson admitted that on Dec. 9, 2022, he resisted an arrest by throwing an officer to the ground. Bringer-Shepherd sentenced him to serve three years in prison. Hudson admitted that on Dec. 9, 2022, he removed an energy device from an officer. Bringer-Shepherd sentenced him to serve five years in prison.

Hudson admitted he damaged the energy device on Dec. 9, 2022. Bringer-Shepherd sentenced him to serve three years in prison. She then suspended execution of those sentences and placed him on five years of felony supervised probation, to run concurrently, under several conditions, including that he complete counseling and anger management, not to have contact with the victim and to pay restitution. Russell Lee Lafond, 24, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 1 to felony harassment. Lafond admitted that on March 11 he caused emotional distress to a male victim by operating a vehicle in an aggressive and dangerous manner. Bringer-Shepherd sentenced him to serve three years in prison but suspended execution of that sentence and placed him on five years felony supervised probation under several conditions, including that he complete counseling and not to have contact with the victim. Rebecca Jean Oles, 35, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 1 to felony domestic assault. Oles admitted that on March 8 she caused physical injury to a female victim by choking her. Bringer-Shepherd sentenced her to serve five years in prison but suspended the execution of that sentence. She placed her on five years of felony supervised probation under several conditions, including that she complete counseling and to follow all recommendations of Children’s Division and the Juvenile Court. Melissa Kay Williams, 57, of Louisiana, Mo., pled guilty May 1 to felony driving while intoxicated. Williams admitted that on April 14, 2023, she operated a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Bringer-Shepherd sentenced her to serve four years in prison but suspended the execution of that sentence and placed her on five years of felony supervised probation under several conditions, including that she complete counseling. The Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated this case.

Melissa Kay Williams, 56, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 2 to felony delivery of a controlled substance. Williams admitted that on Aug. 14, 2023, she possessed methamphetamine with the intent to distribute. Judge Talley Smith sentenced her to serve seven years in prison but suspended the execution of that sentence and placed her on five years of felony supervised probation under several conditions, including that she complete counseling. Daren Wayne Brown, 56, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 2 to felony delivery of a controlled substance. Brown admitted that on Aug. 14, 2023, he had methamphetamine in his possession with the intent to distribute. Smith sentenced him to serve seven years in prison but suspended the execution of that sentence and placed him on five years of felony supervised probation under several conditions, including that he complete counseling. Daren Wayne Brown, 56, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 2 to felony possession of a controlled substance. Brown admitted that on Nov. 3, 2023, he had methamphetamine in his possession. Smith sentenced him to serve five years in prison but suspended the execution of that sentence and placed him on five years of felony supervised probation (consecutive to the previous case) under several conditions, including that he complete counseling. Jeffery Richard Dietle, 34, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 2 to felony possession of a controlled substance. Dietle admitted that on Sept. 5, 2023, he had methamphetamine in his possession. Smith sentenced him to serve five years in prison but suspended the execution of that sentence and placed him on five years of felony supervised probation under several conditions, including that he complete counseling. Jeffery Richard Dietle, 34, of Hannibal, Mo., pleaded guilty to felony possession of a controlled substance. Dietle admitted that on Dec. 26, 2023, he had methamphetamine in his possession. The Judge sentenced him to serve five years in prison but suspended execution of that sentence and placed him on five years felony supervised probation (consecutive to the above case) under several conditions, including that he successfully complete counseling. Carl Wayne Brothers, 20, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 3 to felony harassment. Brothers admitted that on March 11 he caused emotional distress to a male victim by pointing a rifle at him. Judge John Jackson sentenced him to serve four years in prison but suspended the execution of that sentence and placed him on five years of felony supervised probation under several conditions, including that he complete counseling and not to have contact with the victim. Gary Nathaniel Jeffries, 20, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 7 to felony driving while intoxicated. Jeffries admitted that on May 28, 2023, he operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of marijuana and acted with criminal negligence by driving off the road and as a result caused physical injury to a male victim. Bringer-Shepherd sentenced him to serve four years in prison but suspended the execution of that sentence and placed him on five years of felony supervised probation under several conditions, including that he complete counseling. The Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the case.

Chance Albert McCormick, 37, of Quincy, Ill., pled guilty May 7 to felony delivery of a controlled substance. McCormick admitted that on Dec. 1, 2023, he possessed methamphetamine with the intent to distribute. Judge Matthew Wilson sentenced him to serve five years in prison. The Hannibal Police Department investigated the case.

John Calvin Brewer, 61, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 15 to felony domestic assault. Brewer admitted that on Aug. 12, 2023, there was physical injury caused to a male juvenile victim’s hand by him leaving a loaded firearm within easy reach to the male. Judge David Mobley sentenced him to serve seven years in prison but suspended the execution of that sentence and placed him on five years of felony supervised probation under several conditions, including that he complete counseling, to not have any firearms or ammunition in his possession and to not have contact with the victim. The Hannibal Police Department investigated this case.

Christopher Lee Davis, 34, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 15 to felony trafficking in the second degree. Davis admitted that on Dec. 21, 2023, he possessed more than 30 milligrams of methamphetamine. Mobley sentenced him to serve 10 years in prison. The Hannibal Police Department investigated this case.

Quentin Lamar Dorsey, 33, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 15 to felony possession of a controlled substance and two counts of felony resisting an arrest. Dorsey admitted that on Aug. 31, 2023, he had methamphetamine in his possession. Dorsey admitted that on Sept. 25, 2023, he showed a machete in an angry or threatening manner and resisted an arrest by fleeing. Dorsey admitted that on March 1 he resisted an arrest by fleeing. Mobley sentenced him to serve three years in prison on each of the above cases to run concurrently. The Hannibal Police Department investigated these cases.

Isaac Anthony Sapp, 39, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 15 to felony trafficking in the second degree. Sapp admitted that on March 13 he possessed 20 milligrams or more of fentanyl. Mobley sentenced him to serve 10 years in prison but suspended the execution of that sentence and placed him on five years of felony supervised probation under several conditions, including that he complete counseling. Ronnie Lynn Willis, 23, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty to felony possession of a controlled substance. Willis admitted that on Nov. 27, 2023, he had methamphetamine in his possession. Mobley granted him a suspended imposition of sentence and placed him on five years of felony supervised probation under several conditions, including that he complete counseling. The Hannibal Police Department investigated this case.

Joshua Tyler Lee Rouse, 38, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 7 to two counts of felony burglary, felony stealing and felony stealing. Rouse admitted on Aug. 20, 2023, he unlawfully entered an inhabitable structure to commit stealing. Rouse admitted that on Sept. 2, 2023, he unlawfully entered a building for stealing and admitted to the stealing. On both cases, Jackson sentenced Rouse to serve five years in prison. Raymond Lee Morton, 69, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 21 to felony possession of a controlled substance. Morton admitted that on January 30 he had methamphetamine in his possession. Bringer-Shepherd sentenced him to serve four years in prison but suspended the execution of that sentence and placed him on five years of felony supervised probation under several conditions, including that he complete counseling. The Hannibal Police Department investigated the case.

Robert Earl Hinton, 57, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 22 to felony driving while intoxicated and felony leaving the scene of an accident. Hinton admitted that on Sept. 9, 2023, he operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. He failed to yield to oncoming traffic, resulting in the serious injury of a male victim. Bringer-Shepherd sentenced Hinton to serve seven years in prison but suspended execution of that sentence, to complete a 120-day institutional treatment center program and then placed him on five years felony supervised probation under several conditions, including he completes counseling, pays restitution and not to consume alcohol. Hinton also admitted he left the scene without stopping. Bringer-Shepherd sentenced him to serve four years in prison, to run consecutive, but suspended execution of that sentence and placed him on five years felony supervised probation under the same conditions listed above. Christina Marie Gearhart, 52, of Hannibal, Mo., pled guilty May 29 to felony possession of a controlled substance. Gearhart admitted that on Oct. 18, 2023, she had methamphetamine in her possession. Jackson granted her a suspended imposition of sentence and placed her on five years of felony supervised probation under several conditions, including that she complete counseling.
