QMG Eye and Vision Institute welcomes new optometrist
QUINCY — QMG Eye and Vision Institute recently welcomed optometrist Dr. Michael Benedict to its team.
Benedict’s interest in optometry began during a high school job shadowing experience when he witnessed the intricate workings of the human eye.
“The first time I looked through the ophthalmoscope and saw the back of the eye, I was hooked,” Benedict said in a press release.
Benedict, a Hannibal, Mo., native, spent the past nine years in Mexico, Mo. His family’s roots and a desire to give back to his community drew him back to the area.
“I grew up in Hannibal. My parents and grandparents still live in Hannibal. I couldn’t wait to come back here and get involved in the Tri-State community again,” he said.
Benedict emphasizes a collaborative approach to care.
“I want to keep you informed about treatment options so you can make informed decisions that best suit your visual needs,” he said.
Benedict holds a bachelor of science degree in biological sciences from the University of Missouri and a doctor of optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry. Benedict is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Missouri Optometric Association.
Benedict is now accepting new patients. Call QMG Eye and Vision Institute at 217-222-EYES (3937) to schedule an appointment or visit qmgeyes.com to learn more.
