QU students to be collecting nonperishable food items Wednesday for food pantries

QUINCY – Quincy University is asking the community to participate in its annual food drive Wednesday in conjunction with QU’s Day of Service. Students will be outside local grocery stores collecting nonperishable food items to support local food pantries in Quincy.

Nonperishable food items will be collected outside Hy-Vee, County Market, Save-A-Lot and Walmart locations. Nonperishable items are:

  • Canned vegetables, meats, beans and fruit
  • Box mixes such as pancake mix, muffin mix and pudding mixes.
  • Pasta and pasta dinners, cereal and powdered milk
  • Non-food items, including laundry soap, diapers or toilet paper.
