Area artists within 50-mile radius of Hannibal invited to submit works for 60th annual ORiGINALE competition
HANNIBAL, Mo. — Area artists living within a 50-mile radius of Hannibal are encouraged to submit original works of art to the Hannibal Art Club’s 60th annual area artist exhibit and competition, ORiGINALE.
The exhibit and competition will be on display from Sept. 20 through Oct. 26. More than $3,000 in prize money will be awarded.
Area artists wishing to submit work for the exhibit and competition should bring their work to the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S Main, from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13 or from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14. Entry and fees are limited to two entries per artist at $15 per entry ($10 per entry for Hannibal Art Club members, payable at registration). Any 2-D and 3-D media are acceptable (except photography or computer-generated art). All works submitted must be original.
Last year’s exhibit and competition included 128 original works by 71 area artists. Recipients of the two top Best of Show awards in 2023 were Connie Ballard and Kelly Eddington. Ballard won the Dr. Michael and Sherry Bukstein Best Of Show Award for her oil titled “Timeless Barn” in the non-professional division. Eddington won the Barrick-Gaines Best Of Show Award for her watercolor titled “X-Woman” in the professional division.
