HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Wild & Wacky Art Adventure, a free art festival for kids ages 3 to 10 and their families, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 3, in Central Park, Fourth and Broadway.

This year’s theme is “Beyond the Canvas!” The Hannibal Arts Council is partnering with many Hannibal organizations, businesses, and individuals to present a morning-long community event for the entire family. The event is free.

The popular projects of Masterpiece T-Shirts, Box Town and Music & Drum Circle will be back this year.  Projects and partnerships that fit the theme will be fresco painting, costume mask making, flower-pounding prints, textile art, basket weaving and paper quilt design.

The Hannibal Arts Council created the Wild & Wacky Art Adventure to provide an activity during which parents and children can interact, work side by side, explore creativity, and, in some ways, strengthen the sense of family. For the event to be free, local businesses, people and organizations are sponsoring the event. Each year, more than 300 children and children-at-heart enjoy the free event.
