Pittsfield woman faces drug charges after trying to bring methamphetamine into Pike County Jail

PLEASANT HILL, Ill. — A Pittsfield woman faces drug charges after a Monday traffic stop.

The Pleasant Hill Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a 2014 Chevrolet truck at 10:51 p.m. Monday in the 800 block of West Quincy. After an investigation, the driver, Desirae A. Howland, 36, of Pittsfield was arrested on a warrant from Pike County, Mo.

Howland was transported to the Pike County Jail, where she was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. She was later charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine and bringing contraband into a penal institution. Howland remains lodged in the Pike County Jail.  

The Pleasant Hill Police Department was assisted by the Pike County Sheriff’s Department.
